Bigger SD Card for DS 708

     I am trying to install a 16GB SD Card into my DS708, Unfortnately I have hit a stumbling block. After reading through numerous other posts I am still unable to get it to work.

    I have formatted the card and I have copied the files from the SD card supplied to a folder on my computer and then copied them to the new SD card.

    When I put the new SD card in my DS 708, it does not read it?  What am I doing wrong?

     Hi, is there any error message when you start up the device? Or it won't start up at all? Please try with the original card to see if can read. If not either, there may be problem with the SD card slot. If the original card can read well then there should be problem with the new SD card. Please try and write to support@autel.com if there is any problem. Thanks!

     if you find that it can still read the original card - the new card may not be for some reason incompatible. I seem to recall there where card that worked better then others in the ds708.

     I have tried 2 different 16Gb memory cards, 1 being a PNY, and the other being a SanDisk. The information copies on to the new cards ok, but when you put them into the 708 and turn it on it brings up a screen showing a picture of the 708 and that I should put a memory card in to the slot on it.

    Both cards have been formatted.

    I have emailed support and await a reply. This is not a good situation as I have had the devise a year on 18th august and my free updates run out then (although I have not managed to do any updates yet)  Don't think I will be pay for any further updates as there seems to be know point!!

    If the original 4GB card still works ok, I would make an image of the 4gb card  on another PC with an earlier version of windows or , Linux Mint , or Ubuntu. Later versions like Windows 8 may have something built in that might prevent copying encrypted code made for copy right protection of software.

     did you format to FAT32.
